Text Box:     A Proactive Health Action Training Project  Initiative Empowering African American Women in Jefferson County   This training, offered by The Center for Urban Missions Center for Urban Research and Empowerment (CURE) in collaboration with Oasis Women’s Counseling Center, Barbara Britt Pickens Counseling Center, Samaritan Christian Counseling Center, The New City Church, along with area church and women’s groups is appropriate for all women (but focuses especially on empowering African American women ages 20-55) who live in Jefferson County, Alabama.  We encourage all interested women to attend.   Topics addressed in a retreat workshop format are presented by experienced health care professionals Topics addressed in the training will include:

Text Box:       Always on a Friday evening (6:30p till 10p) and Saturday (8:30a till 5p).  Women attending who plan to stay overnight should come prepared to remain for the duration of the event with clothing, toiletries, towels, and a sleeping bag or palette.  Each workshop is limited to 75 women who want to be refreshed and equipped to more joyously manage life’s challenges.  Attendance on Friday and Saturday is strongly encouraged.
