STARS
(Skill-building,
Training, Achievement, Results,
and Sufficiency) programs were originally designed to
directly target children and their families in a housing project,
Metropolitan Gardens, in what was America’s poorest zip code in the
middle of downtown Birmingham. STARS now serves the broader
community, offering services that children, youth and adults can use
to supplement their on-going learning needs.
